I've been trying to make time here and there for the K12 Online Conference 2009, which is just finishing up after a two-week run. I know the conference never ends (great tagline) but I feel as if I need to be engaged now, as it unfolds, or I lose the threads.
I've expressed concern to the K12 folks (who should be commended for all the work they do to pull this together -- it's an amazing array of resources and entry points) about the confusin… Continue

Greetings Tech Friends!
Since September, Bonnie Kaplan and I have been helping to nurture an online space that allows NWP fellows to continue or extend the experience of the NWP eAnthology beyond the summer months. We found that a lot of our teachers wanted to keep that online network of sharing and writing alive during the year and felt sad when it disappeared.
Thus, we created the experimental iAnthology network.
We have folks writing via weekly writing prompts, sharing poems and stories, and… Continue

I have heard about Prezi from a few folks and even ventured to the site once or twice, but I could not wrap my head around it. You know how it is: you have a concept of something (ie, presentations use powerpoint, which are a formal sequence of slides moving forward) and it is difficult to shake loose. Just imagine when w… Continue
I try not to overload anyone's email box with messages from Tech Friends. I am conscience of your time and focus. But Fred mentioned that he did not seem to be getting all-network messages and felt left out of some of the conversations. So, if you go into your settings (link on upper right) and then… Continue

Shirley Brown, who works with the team that facilitates NWP's E-Anthology, posted this to the TLN discussion. Thought you all might be interested, in case you didn't see the original post:

• Would you like to meet this E-Team member in person?
• Are you attending the Annual Meeting of the NWP in Philadelphia this month?
If so, please come to the Friday workshop session B-15 * from 3:30 -5:30… Continue

If you are interested in the Writing in the Digital Age (always a big hit), I would register early.
Unless you are a presenter of the session -- are you?

I spent last weekend up high in the air -- in Denver -- at the Web Presence Retreat. Although my partner from our site had to drop out due to illness, I got a lot of planning and inquiry work accomplished, thanks in part to the wonderful presenters and the other folks in the room. I thought it might be good to share out a bit of the experience, in case you too are thinking that your web presence for your site needs a new look.
The retreat is not a technical retreat, but a visioning retreat. Thi… Continue
