University of Maryland Writing Project: A Digital Conference Document

UMd Writing Project's Digital Conference Document from Bonnie Kaplan on Vimeo.

What a pleasure it was to work with this new site and its two wonderful directors: Patti Stock and Joseph McCaleb as they moved deeper into the web world with their TC's.
In February I was invited to work with them, putting digital tools into the hands of their new tech team and t… Continue

Podcasting, Finally

So today I created a podcast.

This was not my first podcast but this was a podcast that could have been a digital story but I have no photos for it and inspired by Kevin, pushing me to podcast more often, and Felicia's comment to my holiday reflections and my own thoughts in the shower, here I am.

This is with podcast people so I can't embed the code, but if you're interested, here's the link.
Let me know what you think.

I noticed there were several newbies in your photos. I am glad to see Kevin and Cynthia at the dinner. I met Michael from Greater KC this summer. He is a great addition to our Missouri Writing Project Network.
Missed all of you. I will be at the conference next year.
I am spending two days team teaching poetry (real name poems) with our Art teacher daughter. I love doing this kind of work. I usually go in two to three days to get the kids going and then I help guide editing their work online via email. I would like to introduce a ning, but this particular school blocks even Flickr.

I actually saw ONCE 3 times! Loved, loved it. Took my kids, then took my teacher-partner who moved away in June...It was her "going away" present and I think she enjoyed it too... I didn't see No Reservations but loved Ratatouille. I would have to say the two most interesting films lately were Lady Chatterley's Lover and Private Property, both European and fascinating. The older I get the more I like the probing works.

Man, I am jealous of the Macs. I'm cranking up to get another 15-inch laptop so that I can use those faster processors. I'll probably get iLife 08 when Leopard comes out. I'll bet your movies are really gorgeous. What are you using to edit? I've heard some don't like new iMovie...Let me know when I can look.

Wow. You are "Mac" city. I'm still on my 15 inch. But, I'm curious how

Bonnie,
Sorry to be so long accepting your invitation. I've started a new job, moved, and have been traveling to Intel training several different weeks this summer.
I'm looking forward to great discussions!

You would probably enjoy the full Final Cut Pro Studio. Although, I have to tell you that laptops in general are not made for tons of video editing. The more video you have and the higher end applications really tug at the power. One of the towers would really rock. I just got a new MacPro QuadCore and it really works well for editing. I've got the full Final Cut Studio 2 and it really is great. I got a black MacBook for my laptop and it has plenty of power for basic editing and is so easy to tote around.

Hey Bonnie - I missed chatting with you yesterday. I was teaching and when I came back to my computer and saw your invitation you were already offline. HELLO!!! Hope your summer is going well.
